The beach tends to be busy, but not overly crowded, during most months - and you can always drive further south for a bit more seclusion.Īt the far end of Whitecap Beach is Bob Hall Pier, a quarter-mile long walkable pier with two restaurants on the shore side. The sand on the dune-side of the beach is often packed firmly, allowing for even smaller cars to drive on the beach (though a word of caution to not veer too far off the path - we’ve seen plenty of Civics stuck in soft sand). The south side of Whitecap Beach is very vehicle friendly, with visitors during most times of the day. This area of Whitecap Beach is accessible during most tidal conditions, but during exceptionally high tides, you might find yourself clinging to the sea wall to stay dry. If youre looking for things to see and do in the area, you might like to visit Port Aransas Beach and North Padre Island Beach. Visitors to beachside Corpus Christi love the natural attractions this area offers such as the beaches. This Padre Island Sea Wall extends north almost to Packery Channel and is plenty wide at the top for runners, dog walking, and biking. Corpus Christi is home to Whitecap Beach. Many people walk along the beach, or along the Sea Wall the beach bumps against. The north side is about a quarter-mile long stretch of beach that makes for a quieter and slightly more secluded experience. The north side (to your left), which is pedestrian only, and the south side (to your right) which is vehicle-friendly. instead of lockdowns.When you arrive at Whitecap Beach from Whitecap Blvd, you’ll notice two areas of the beach. We just had a decent hurricane 2 weeks ago and the beaches were wrecked. there are no grocery stores close to either location, but the real beach is much nicer, water is way cleaner. Whitecap beach is just a small 1 miles section of the barrier island that spans 35 miles of coastline that you can drive to.

like a TV with a power cord, they cut the power cord because it would take too much time to undo my cable management. and the thieves destroyed what they stole by cutting wires instead of just disconnecting them. The apartment was broken into and EVERYTHING was stolen. Used to have a Condo and an Apartment on North Beach, the Condo was access controlled and nice. it's still a slum but has some restaurants and bars. North Beach used to be a slum, then they built a few tourist attractions on cheap land. I'd say that the island is more family-friendly.
We did just get a Starbucks on the island. 2710 N Shoreline Blvd, Corpus Christi, TX 78402, USA 3 North Beach Save Beach Outdoor Activities Popular, white sand beach featuring a paved multiuse trail, Ferris wheel, aquarium & restaurant. There are about 3 great restaurants on the island, the rest are overpriced, not good, or both, a legit coffee house made of shipping containers, mini-golf, and horses. The bluff is a 10 min drive and has Lorelai Brewing, HEB, a Walmart, and fast food. The island is about a 20min drive to the mall and shopping areas. North beach's sand is coarse compared to the island, but the waves are choppy at both beaches. Find it: 14926 Windward Dr., Mile Markers 213-219, Corpus Christi, TX 78418. Cool coffee shops and bakeries if you look hard enough.
It has downtown, the Lexington, Art museum, the bridge, the aquarium, closer to civilization, and the mall. North Beach has more bars and more restaurants.
I personally like padre island waaaay better than North beach, but there's more to do in the north beach area. depends on you and what you're trying to do. We had a HUGE rise in cases due to people coming down for vacation/getaway to the point where they closed the beach to vehicular access, which hasn't stop anybody.
